Childhood Dreams

1988. Fourth grade. I drew a movie poster for a film that I thought I was going to make. The picture featured a man breaking through a brick wall. He was a cross between The Terminator and Max Headrorm. He wore sunglasses and had spiky 1980’s hair. He was my version of a good guy terminator. I called him Blockbuster.

Not only would this movie catapult me to cinematic success, but I would open a video store and call it Blockbuster Video.

A few years later, I saw a report on a growing video store called Blockbuster Video.

I was crushed.
